Last week some of the children from Year 1 went to plant flowers in Ryton Park because we were asked, as a school, if we would like to adopt a flower bed. We planted perennial flowers in the middle of our bed and added compost and water. We edged the bed with annual flowers. In the future we are hoping to grow our own seeds to re-plant each year. The children thoroughly enjoyed getting their hands dirty and creating a pattern! We managed to finish planting just in time before it started to rain! Different groups of children will weed and tend the flowers throughout the year. Next time you're visiting the park look out for our beautiful diamond-shaped flower bed next to the bowling green cabin!
