Science

As part of science year 2 have been looking to see which plants and animals live in their local environment. We looked around our school grounds to see what animals and plants we could find. We found all sorts of mini beasts and even a frog under a log. On Wednesday 22nd September Year 2 went for a walk down to the Willows. First we looked around the wood where some children saw a squirrel. The children were great at finding insects amonst the leaves and on the trees. They also found lots of different kinds of fungi as well as various other plants and berries.

We then went to the pond where we were able to see some pond skaters and some ducks. Unfortunately no king fisher this time.

Thankfully the weather stayed lovely for our walk. The children were very pleased to get back to school for a rest after walking up the steep bank from the Willows.
